Thank you all for your comments, but all visitors are not necessarily lace, then here are some pictures that show just how we used to use these tiles to wheel to lace "linear", ie, intended to be sewn on clothing, linens, etc. .....
a box, ie, a "model" simple lace pinned around the wheel, unearthed some time in various flea markets lined with a linen thread and work can begin .... . but gradually the movement of time will damage the nice fabric ...
A sample of leather, cut just the right size will do the trick ..... it will be the "apron".
Somehow, it replaces the "species" of thick oilcloth which was on the floor of origin.
The wheel rotates slowly around its axis revealing the board continuously and gradually, the lace can be made to the desired size, or even "at infinity"!!
Sitting comfortably in a chair, kneeling on the floor as before, it's really nice to come across these time ....
